For a 3D Modelling PC Should i get 64 bit Vista or 32 bit? What are the advantages of 64 bit?

by 3D G33K

I’m starting Games Design, and we’ll be using Maya for modelling, but i’m not sure whether to go for a 64 bit Vista or 32 bit, I was curious if anyone could advise me on what to go for.

64 bits gives you more available memory address space, a good thing for programs that take a lot of memory. But make sure that you get a computer that can be expanded to at least 8GB. The expansion you get from 4GM or RAM (about 0.5GB) isn’t much. And, of course, you need a 64 bit CPU and motherboard. You can’t run a 64 bit operating system on a 32 bit computer.
