you can try cnet.com search for it

There many different kinds of modeling software with various degrees of getting towards a final project. Perhaps the most complete is Blender, but others include Wings3D, Google Sketch-Up, CB Model Pro (beta) and a host of others.
It all depends on what you desire as your final product. If you want models for just rendering many can do that, if you want to export models for a particular platform, you will have to look at feature sets and available export filters.

Keep in mind that vista is riddled with software compatibility issues and even with the most current updates you may experience problems. Also, with any 3d program you want to make sure your graphics drivers are updated and you have enough memory, even if the program uses low resources. Lastly If your a beginner these make excellent starting points but as you advance you may want to invest in 3dsmax or Maya.

(TOP choice) Blender is open source which is available for Xp/vista which you can find here http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/
It’s very popular among beginners and advanced users and has good support. You can find many tutorials online for this program.

( 2nd) Milkshape 3d for xp/vista is easy and resource friendly. But it’s not free, however if you do buy it’s a mere $25. This is popular among those who like to create objects for the Sims 2. http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch/ms3d/download.html

    Wings3d is free http://www.wings3d.com/
Maybe a little confusing to use the interface is a little convoluted. But it’s worth a try.

    POV-ray http://povray.org/

    3d canvas for xp/vista at http://www.amabilis.com/

    3dplus http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/3dPlus/default.asp
I know a few who tried it and said it wasn’t that bad but not great. It lacks some rendering and modeling capabilities in comparison to blender and milkshape3d.
