Im not sure what your asking fully but i think i understand.
What i use is the Autodesk Maya 8.5 learning edition, it’s free and compatable with Valve’s Half life 2. If you want to go proffesional you can get better versions of Autodesk’s Maya, which are more updated to use Source engine.
But this is a character creation program, you can use garry’s mod to make movies and such.

Among the ones I use, 3D Magix has a game engine integrated with the modeling and animation tools. It also features a special effects module that works both ways.
