I have a disorder called vertigo – which is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is actually stationary with respect to the surroundings. So I get more motion sick than most people. Can i watch a 3D movie without getting sick?

There’s different levels of vertigo, so there’s no way of knowing without trying to watch a 3-d movie. It has no effect on some and strong effects on others. There’s medicine a doctor can give you to help with vertigo.

There’s a 2-D version of most 3-D films. My nephew said that when he saw “Avatar” it was a 2-D version with Closed Captions!
edit: Meaghan is right, though. Another milder form of the drug is Phenagran.

My husband has vertigo and he didn’t have any trouble when we saw Friday the 13th 3D. He did take a Compazine, which is an anti-vert/anti-nausea just before we left for the theater so you may want to consider doing that or getting a script for it if you don’t already have one. I know my husband has scripts for both Compazine and Meclizine but Meclizine puts to sleep immediately so Compazine would be better to take right before a movie, no matter how exciting the movie is!
