You need to ask what causes epileptic seizures, and do they occur in 3D movies. I thought that they could be caused by rapid flickering lights like strobes and they are not an integral part of 3D. The process relies on two images being shown on one film and you wear coloured glasses to differentuate the two images.

The result is bi-ocular vision which is similar to real life. So they should cause no more seizures than life.

My son does ok. He has never had a seizure due to watching a 3-D movie but unfortunately I cannot speak for everyone who has seizures. I hope someone can give you a better answer.
