Any HDTV is compatible with BluRay. Its just that some will be provide optimal playback and others won’t. To get the full BluRay experience you want a big (40″+) HDTV that is 1080p. But that doesn’t mean smaller sets still won’t have a great HD viewing experience with BluRay discs. It just means its not the maximum potential of the format.

Your TV is what’s referred to as a 720p HDTV. It will be just fine with any BluRay player (PS3 or set top player). You should get some great movie viewing with an BluRay player.

i agree with jf, i just want to add, with a 32inch 720p tv (which you have), it wouldn’t be necessary to get a blu ray player, since you might not see a huge difference in movies. but if you are getting one anyways it will work.

but with games, for some reason i see a big difference. i have connected my PS3 with regular cables(non hd), then with HDMI (for high definition) and there is a pretty big difference.
