What 3D game creation software do I use?

by 3D G33K

Ive been looking for a free or cheap 3d game creation software/engine. I’m not looking for some cheap piece of trash like the 3D game creator or FPS creator. A response would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Olay.

    C++.

    What do you think all the people who made Crysis did? Use some easy editor? No! They used a programming language and built it up from scratch.

    Umm… most 3D games are written from scratch using C++. If you want to get into 3D gaming, I suggest you make a mod to an existing game, like Half-Life 2. That would be a good start.

    These were taught from one of my old classes, you need some basic programming concepts, understand object oriented design, and brush up on some math (geometry/trigonometry and up)

    irrLitch – http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/
    Ogre – http://www.ogre3d.org/
    Cube – http://www.cubeengine.com/cube.php4
    XNA – http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/xna/default.aspx but you will need Visual Studio C# express also

    You can use MAYA. If you master it, it will be a huge advantage for you. For me, it is the best 3D creation software.
