Blender from Blender corporation is an awesome 3D modelling professional software, http://www.blender.org/ and besides its open source also. But has good official support.

darkbasic pro is the best and easiest to use and you can get for $27-50 the software walks you through it in the begining
this software can be used for making games like medal of honor, call of Duty, god of war, well you know shooting games but you can also make 3d puzzle games. and the software comes with demos or games that are already started that you just have to complete and it comes with many pre-made characters and levels.

you can get it by going to google and going into their official website but its a lot cheaper if you go to target.com

The #1 rated software for 6 years running, if you have the money, is Studio Max. To the tune of $2500, this software is used to make everything from The Transformers movie, clear down to those annoying cell phone comercials.

It’s designed with natural and false lighting in mind. I have seen this program in action and I gotta tell ya, I have a new found respect for you game makers out there….

YouTube videos with tutorials are available which is a GREAT way to preview the program and see it in action.
