What is the best kind of 3D game design (not editing) software?
by 3D G33K
I am looking into getting some 3D game design software so I can create my own games. I have Maya 2008, but I want to expand further. I was looking at Dark Basic, but I would like more input to add on to that. Thanks!Hi, I am not looking to recover data. I am looking for Video Game Design Software.

Err take a look at 3d game studio last time I used it was pretty good for experimenting with maps etc. At least last time I used it they’ve improved it a lot since then. You can also try Blitzbasic its got a pretty large community I’m sure you will find help using that as well highly recommend this one. If you want to learn some programming you can always try c# with XNA although that requires you actually learn a programming language and some skill its not something that you can do overnight. I would comment on Dark Basic but never heard of it so just wait until someone that knows about it gives you better answer to that.

An excellent 3d game authoring tool would be DX Studio.

It allows you to start designing games right away. Costs involved are VERY low: a non-commercial license is about $90. You can take the knowledge you have of Maya, and apply that immediately in DS Studio. Programming is done through a Javascript language that is easy to learn.
If you like, a fully functional version is available to test the system.
