What is the best 3D design software?

by 3D G33K

I am absolutely new to 3D design, and have no training/classes/experience. I need to have simple, ease-to-use design software that lets me design concept models for aircraft and aerospace components. The software needs to be extremely simple to learn with enough features to give me reall high quality designs/models.

One of the best software for 3d images would be the Auto CAD it is a little expensive and very hard to use but with acouple classes and alot interes you will be able to use it w/ not much difficulties, one other thing is that there are other softwares such as 3D Studio Max which personally I nadn’t use but I have heard it is good so I would advice you to take a look at some webs just go to yahoo.com and search for videos of Auto CAD and they should have some to show how good it is….

3D Studio Max is more for characters and animiated stuff. Autocad is the most widely used for desging anything that will actually be built. AutoCAD is very expensive and hard to use. There used to be a lite version that was much cheaper but I don’t know if that is still available. Another option is Bentley Microstaion. There are a lot of design suites out there none of which that I know of are going to be particularly easy to use and all of them are extremely expensive.

Instead of repeating what’s already been said, I want to add two more 3D softwares that are really good: Maya and Cinema4D. I personally prefer Cinema4D because I find it simpler and more user-friendly. A lot of my 3D design friends prefer Maya though, because they feel it is more feature-ific.
