Its not THAT hard but it does have a steep learning curve. I wouldn’t think that there is any age limit on it, I started at 18 but that is because that is when computers caple of it became available (commodore Amiga). some good packages are 3D canvas download (freeware) from http://www.amabilis.com/ site has an excellent tutorial and its quite easy to use. The current darling of the scene id Blender (also free) http://www.blender.org/ though I have always thought this one is quite hard to use.
