Don’t know if this could help you, but i once did this project for my 3D class where I had to design something with pins in a foam board. It could be clever, intelligent, decorative, beautiful and ugly. Clever and intelligent because you have to put your design with the pins. Decorative because it has movement, beautiful because the pins with the black foam board looks really cool and ugly because it in different angels you cant even tell what it is. Hope it helps : )

I would like to say Wings3d. But that is an extremely barebones program. But my friend uses it to make objects for her comic and she likes it. So I will take her word on that.

Maya is by far the best 3d rendering software. It would also be then the best to start out with. If maya doesn’t work for you, use blender, if its your first 3d rendering software, it will be easy to get(for some reason if u get used to another 3d rendering software, blender is very hard to learn….).

In conclusion, i suggest maya; it is hands down the best 3d rendering software out there.

I don’t know if you live near a branch of some college, but every college bookstore I’ve ever been in has them, that’s where I got mine for OChem. Of course, you can also buy them from amazon.com, there are some links below.

maybe Age of Empires by Microsoft, some of them have a game editor

sure hope you are not looking for game development tools to create a popular game on your own, there is a reason why there are 20 to 30 experienved, talented people in the credits of a good game. Sorry but so many newbies think they can create a something like world of warcraft on their own.

get started on the editor of age of empires so you can see how much work it takes just to create a good terrain, building field,
