Question by : How do you create 3D animation video games?
How do you create 3D animation video games? I need a program that creates RPG video games. I would like to create video games similar to World of Warcraft and Runescape. I would like it if the graphics are good and the program is easy to use. I also need the program to be a low price or if possible free. I already know the program “Blender” but is there any better programs for free? Also would I need a collage education in Computer graphics to create video games or do I just need to know how to use the program?

Best answer:

Answer by caleb
lol, I was actually gona say Blender. I used to know of some programs that you might be able to use… but I forgot what they were called.
Check this site out and see if you can find something: http://sourceforge.net/
Anyway, I can tell you now you won’t make anything that compares to Runescape, and especially WoW. Unless you’ve got a whole lot of time, patience, and the ability to learn constantly, to actually make it into a MMO type game, you’ll need even more knowledge, a lot more.

Give your answer to this question below!

Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) November 21, 2011

Matrox Graphics today announced that new products from its Avio KVM extender and Mura™ MPX video display wall controller board product lines will be used in conjunction for the first time at I/ITSEC 2011. Building on Matrox’s highly successful showing alongside Mitsubishi at Integrate 2011, Avio will extend uncompressed triple-display simulation content to a remote station one kilometer away from the host workstation, while Mura captures and displays the simulation data on a visualization video wall powered by six of Mitsubishi’s industry-leading DLP rear-projection cubes.

Mura is the new standard in video wall technology and uniquely incorporates input and output channels on the same board to optimally manage peer-to-peer bandwidth in visually intensive, high-resolution applications. Based on PCI Express x16 Gen 2 technology, Mura ensures Full HD performance for training and simulation systems using Mitsubishi displays, projectors, and cubes, while multiple Mura boards can also be combined to build high-density, scalable video walls for control rooms, operation centers, and other mission-critical environments.

“We are extremely pleased with the positive feedback that we’ve received on our Matrox-driven solutions,” said Matt Krstulja – Director of Sales, Datawall, at Mitsubishi Electric. “Matrox’s renowned multi-display graphics performance brings out the best of our displays and has been the perfect complement to our latest visual technologies.”

“We’re proud to show our latest high-end visualization solutions in partnership with Mitsubishi,” said Samuel Recine, Director of Sales, Americas & Asia Pacific at Matrox Graphics Inc. “Combining Mitsubishi’s leading display products with our graphics hardware will allow IT and AV systems integrators to reach the pinnacle of multi-user, high-intensity content visualization, whatever the application.”

I/ITSEC attendees seeking additional information on Matrox multi-display solutions with Mitsubishi display products can visit booth #2835 at the Orange County Convention Center from November 28 to December 1, or contact Matrox Graphics at graphics(at)matrox(dot)com.

HOW TO VIEW IN 3D: Click on the “3D View Style” menu then select how you’d like to view. Red/Cyan are pretty common but see what works best for you. If you don’t have glasses, then select “cross eyed” and just cross you eyes slightly to make the 2 videos overlap into 1. This is normally how I view 3D videos without glasses but if you’re not able to overlap images with your eyes then you may want to just purchase a cheap pair of glasses somewhere online or buy a 3D movie from the store and use those glasses. Don’t forget to click the full screen button on the bottom right of the video player as well… it helps if you have glasses. Sorry, Disney’s fancy RealD polarized glasses don’t work on these. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND… : This video was only a test for me to see how YouTube would handle it’s new 3D feature. If this becomes popular and people are able to view it then I’ll put more effort into the next one. I’d love to do this in my usual video quality. IF THIS DOESN’T WORK FOR YOU: – Cross-eyed can be difficult if you don’t have control over your eye muscles. Try sitting away from the screen a bit or just get some practice in. There are a lot of cool videos like this on the net. – If you’re using glasses and the image seems to be inside out then use your glasses the other way around. Some glasses are backwards. If your glasses can seperate the 2 images then it may be your computer monitor. A burned out, dull or discolored monitor may not work with your glasses. -STILL doesn …
Video Rating: 4 / 5

See video and photos of the lunar eclipse, Samsung’s new iPod Touch competitor, the Remote app gets some improvements, 3D comes to the Nintendo DS, and a remote control helicopter that plays “Jingle Bells” on the piano!

Watching Animusic is like being mesmerized by the world’s most elaborate Rube Goldberg devices: You’re so astonished by their ingenuity that you can’t look away. This “computer animation video album” is the brainchild of Wayne Lytle, a progressive-rock keyboardist and 1988 graduate of Cornell University’s Program of Computer Graphics. Modifying techniques originally applied to the visualization of scientific data, Lytle partnered with graphic artist and 3D modeler Dave Crognale to create elaborate virtual stage sets and imaginary musical instruments that are driven via MIDI interface to virtually “play” the music that Lytle has composed for them. “The music drives the instruments,” explains Lytle in his engaging DVD commentary, “and not the other way around.” Using proprietary software called MIDImotion™, Lytle and Crognale have invented self-playing musical instruments that exist in a magical realm of musical and mathematical precision, perfectly synchronized to the kind of fully-synthesized prog-rock that Lytle obviously enjoys (and if you’re a fan of Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman, you will, too). It’s the kind of audiovisual bombast that appeals to some more than others (and there’s something oddly impersonal about removing humans from the performance of music), but Animusic is so intricately clever that anyone can be captivated by the meticulous novelty of these beautifully engineered musical marvels.

Take, for example, the most popular track, “Pipe Dream,” in which thousands of animated balls take on a life of their own, popping out of an intricate system of pipes and barrels and bouncing, with percussive precision, onto all varieties of strings, drums, xylophones, timbales, cowbells… it’s just hypnotically amazing. The same holds true for all of these videos, and while the colorful 3D rendering of Animusic (first released in 2001) is no longer state-of-the-art, the underlying mechanics remain timelessly appealing. For this special edition DVD released in 2004, Lytle opens his toy-box to reveal the creative process of Animusic from conceptual drawings to final 3D rendering. There’s also a “solo-cam” function allowing viewers to switch angular focus from one instrument to another, along with animated set-construction demonstrations to show how everything fits together in the realm of Animusic. The 5.1-channel surround mix makes Animusic a perfect demonstration disc for high-end video systems (this is nothing if not a geek’s delight), and Lytle’s first animation (from 1996) is included along with a sneak-peek at Animusic 2, the follow-up DVD released in 2005. –Jeff Shannon

San Diego-based 3D producer PassmoreLab announced today the release of a new self-produced short film entitled Shooting 3D: Introduction to Stereoscopic Production Techniques that is intended as a “Quick Start” to de-mystify the production requirements and camera techniques of the genre and take the guess-work out of shooting live-action 3D productions. It was created as a tool for beginners and emerging 3D film-makers to better understand the process, from a seasoned 3D producer’s hands-on perspective.

“I have been shooting 3D for years, and trust me, I have made all the mistakes I care to remember,” smiles Greg Passmore, president of PassmoreLab. “At the time, there were no real tutorials to speak of, and all of us in 3D were mostly learning the process by trial and error. Honestly, the error part can get quite costly, so I thought a 3D self-help DVD might be in order.”

Shooting 3D: Introduction to Stereoscopic Production Techniques discusses camera selection, alignment, symmetry, proper mountings, editing tips, technique and a host of other technical details about how to shoot professional looking 3D productions, even without using professional gear or budgets.

The 2D video is 20 minutes long and was created for beginning 3D enthusiasts, focusing mainly on consumer and prosumer cameras and comparisons. Shooting 3D: Introduction to Stereoscopic Production Techniques provides general information and advice from Passmore – he himself an industry pioneer – on 3D productions and how they are set up, calibrated, shot, and edited.

“It dawned on me one day that I was explaining 3D production over and over again at film festivals, so I thought I could create a tool that was much more helpful,” says Passmore. “With the added bonus that they could go back and replay anything they may have missed.”

2009 has been a great year for PassmoreLab. The independent studio has been busy producing a number of live-action 3D science and nature-themed productions – namely ‘Microworlds’, ‘The Extreme Nature of Bats’, and ‘Physics of Surfing’ to name a few — as well as rolling out conversion after conversion, with the most high-profile title being the 3D conversion of the original 1968 George Romero zombie classic “Night of the Living Dead, Now in 3D!”, which premiered October 3 in Los Angeles.

The 3D industry in general has had a banner year as well, as consumers have embraced it worldwide. The explosion at the box office has been exceptional, as was evidenced again recently with Sony’s $ 30 million opening weekend for “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3D”. The emergence of a 3D Blu-ray DVD player for the home entertainment market is next on the 3D horizon, due out in 2010.

“Next year we will see more 3D at the theatre level, and ground-breaking new innovation in the home market, which is great news for the industry” said Steve Glum, Head of Branding and Distribution for PassmoreLab. “Our titles are uniquely poised and positioned to embrace both markets, as we continue to produce 3D content that can be enjoyed no matter where 3D lovers may be. And with our new Shooting 3D video, perhaps there will be even more 3D content out there.”
