i mean i know you have to have a 3d TV to watch the 3D films, but will it still work, until we upgrade to a 3d tv or do we need the 3D TV first? i dont want to spend loads on a 3D player and then it not work!!

You need the 3d tv I would think, but ask someone at bestbuy or something.

I’ve noticed that most bluray players on sell now are 3D. I’m not interested in this feature, but its getting hard to find one without it. Would I be able to just buy a 3D one and not use the 3D feature and still get the same quality I get on my ps3?

There has to be a switch or something to turn the 3D mode off like on the Nintendo 3DS, so yes.

3D blu-ray can play to any HD TV. but only display standard 2D pictures.
also HD ready TV is 720P resolution . the TV display HD resolution 720P not FULL HD 1080P resolution. as blu-ray provide 1080P signals .
you still enjoy it . no problems .acceptable pictures quality.
of course, if the TV is FULL HD 1080P models, you really enjoy high quality resolution blu-ray movies.
